In reality cars don't care how fast or safe we want to be, they just do what we've told them to do untill we park it up! A simulator works entirely off the same physics as reality, so driving in simulation requires our absolute focus. Yes it is hard, but put the time in at your convenience and you will reap massive benefits in reality.
At first it may seem that way. This is in fact because there are no consequences or thrill of speed or power to build raw emotions, obliging us to take responsibility for our actions. There is just cause and effect. Driving fast and safely is all about our ability to focus and be honest with ourselves and our actions as we build experience. In a simulator it is easy to run a lot of laps each one giving us more experience if we apply honest focus.
Every circuit in existance can be found somewhere in simulation. There is no question that a simulator helps to learn the flow of a circuit, so owners arrive at new tracks with a much better understanding.
The fact is you will crash much more often in a sim than the real world. This is mainly because there is slightly less warning of impending doom although the causing factor still exists in exactly the same way as the real world. If a driver keeps going off in the same way, the fact is that driver is not adjusting their approach to suit the cause of the problem. Naturally Sim Dynamics customers can take advantage of our experience to help understand the specifics of re-occuring incidents.
In a real car we have G Force and dive in the car telling us instantly if we are being "casual" or sloppy with our braking. In a simulator we only have personal discipline, based on using the same markers used in the real world and tuning in to how the simulator responds. This focus is precisely where the brain training starts to pay back. Motion systems do not deliver support for the missing G force or yaw because hey do not deliver sustained forces.
