Designed for drivers requiring high quality Caterham or classic car manual gear shift and driver ergonimcs.
Caterhams have a uniquely low and compact cockpit, manual gear shift and very small 260mm steering wheel all obstructed by the central transmission tunnel. This makes their feel and operation quite different to most modern race cars. With no power steering, ABS or TC a very positive level of weight needs to be delivered through that particularly small leather steering wheel. This makes their specific simulation requirements quite different to most race cars beyond say a classic Formula car.
Sim Dynamics Ltd, founder Simon Mason first raced a Caterham in 1996 and since then has coached many Caterham Champions, so who better to build your simulator. With this knowledge we set out to create the highest specification, most accurate simulator possible. Perfect Caterham driver ergonomics and controller weights are central to our simulators, the only factual simulation detail we thought we'd leave out is the effect of rain!!
Part of our attention detail is the use of inverted (upside down) hydraulic pedals with a clutch as standard so when you push them they rotate upwards the same way as all Caterhams but normaly simulators do. Another practical feature is the genuine Caterham steering wheel and raised elbow rest to replicate the Caterham transmision tunnel and a genuine driver compromise in a Caterham. Owners will climb into their Sim Dynamics Caterham Simulator and it feel like a Caterham not a mass production car with a small wheel and manual gearshift!
As standard the simulator comes with a high quality manual gear shift that can be switched easilly between manual or sequential as you move to cars within simulation.
From a practical perspective the entire package can be adapted relatively easilly with no extra costs to match other cars in the future.

The standard specification is pure Caterham race car built by a professional who should understand the purpose and potential. We do not believe any hardware upgrades are required to make your Caterham simulator deliver as it should. However, we each have personal opinions on immersion, practical and easthetic considerations which leads to options such as triple monitors, Caterham race seat or a spare GT style steering wheel (pictured above).
In some cases Caterham racers swap out their standard Caterham Tillet seat for a Beaded Seat. We can reduce the cost of your simulator by incorporating your redundant Tillet seat in to your new simulator.

Minimum installation requirements: 6ft Length and 5ft width. 1 mains power point, internet connection (wired is advised).
